Man this has been one pretty crazy time, if you risk checking out my history here, you'll find some pretty scary stuff! I mean my name here itself is terrible and so "teenage-grr". Since joining here I've progressed from barely-fleshed-out stickmen/fanart to full oil paintings. My taste in music and stuff has radically changed. Even in the past six months I've changed a great deal. Last year I was an ignorant totaly ego-based Tosser. But now not even two months away from starting Uni it's pretty big! I take my art a lot more seriously now. Not serious in /that/ sense though, but nowadays it is my priority compared to before.
I'm basiacally rushing around at the moment trying to do as many paintings as possible, doing as many studies as I can fit in. I'm going to Uni in September, but I don't think I'm ready. My ideas, and my paintings lack that oompff! to make them stand out as /fine art/ instead of mere illustrations/pictures. But y'know what? I don't care. Things come to me when they're ready. A moment's inspiration is better than a lifetime of mediocre ideas. I'm likely to go through my DA the comming week and move most of my stuff into my scraps.
ok droogs, here's the story. I am needing/wanting to become godlike artist in about three/four weeks, so I will be spending many hours painting/drawing. I need ideas. Like if you have a photo of someone you want me to paint, if I think it's ok, I'll do it (and if want, you can buy the painting when it's dry a few months down the line, or something). I really want this to be more artistic shit, and less on fanart aspect (though I think I am doing a Darth vader painting over the next few days... so that maybe not so highlighted!!!) Yeah I need shit sorted out as I've gotten lazy, and I need money and so I really need to combine the two! My lame ideas are like... terrible fantasy shit. This is NOT WHAT I WANT TO DO. There are plenty of fantasy artists around painting Dragons, I want to do something cool and interesting (but may have to resort to doing dragons if I get no ideas)
Also some new paintings and some scraped paintings will be uploaded today hopefully, so watch this space.
(I know some of you have some nice ideas, so please let me know about them!)
ok so a few of my chumchums may know that my current project is a Self portrait. Why? here's some reasons... 1. My very first oil painting was a self portrait, this will serve as an effective comparison to see how my abilities have improved over this short period. 2. As an artist I believe that they can provide the ultimate test, you're not just drawing yourself, you're painting your perception of self. How you truely see yourself, your strengths your frailties. They can be the ultimate expression and something deeply personal. 3.my self loathing is rather well known. by having to effectively take on myself, it enables me to see me for who I am and what i am.
